Dr. Billy McClain
Let begine by telling you a little about my past. I was born and raised in a drunken home. My father was an alcoholic along with very abusive mentally and physically. We went may nights cold and hungry. It was not a good life for a child to grow up in and have to remember. At a young age I feel in love with horses. And would use every chance I could get, even if it ment sneaking away from home, to go to a near by barn. I begain my hand at bull and bronc ridding. By the age of 19 I had won two bull ridding championship. Needless to say with this life style there are injuries. At the age of 18 a bronc fell backwards on top of me and broke my back. As you can probable tell God was not in my life. Not long after that I meet my wife. She was brought up in a Christian home and diffrent kind of life than me. We married when she was only 17. After less than year in marrage I took off to the rodeo circuit. After a couple weeks being gone I came home to wife that was packed and leaving. Her altimatum was church or divorce. I chose church, even though I wanted to go as much as a pulling mule teeth, hpwever I went to keep my wife. I accepted Christ as my savior and things begain to change.
After a little while serving God I felt God calling me to preach. I saw that there were many young men, such as myself, in the world without Gods teaching. As Will Rogers said " there is something about the outside of a horse that gets on the inside of a man"
With that being said I begain to preach and follow Gods leading to teach.
I begain Shining Light in 1989. And God has worked to change many lives through teaching and working on a horse. We have a 98% success rate and its all been through the blessing God has given us to use a horse and farm to help change a life.

- 1975: Greenville South Carolina Bible College with a Bachlors in Phycology
- 1977: Tabernacle Of Louisiana with a Doctors in Theology
- 1979: White Plains Baptist Seminary Dr in Divinity
